Our ranking: The most affordable accommodations in Wroclaw. It has a great location in the very centre of the city, but the rooms are modest and suitable mostly for undemanding guests of hostels, as well as students.

Tourist House "Piast" is a bit of a throwback, a kind of a hostel in a basic version. It's definitely something for those seeking the most affordable accommodations in Wroclaw and don't intend to spend time in the room unnecessarily.
On the other hand... great location in the very centre of the city, opposite the PKP railway station. It's a superb starting point for sightseeing in Wroclaw and taking advantage of all the attractions and entertainment offered by "Venice of the North".
If we spend our money on things related to exploring Wroclaw and have only 20 EUR left, we'll still be able to get a single room at the Piast. Rooms have either bathrooms or only sinks, are very modestly furnished and for the most part rather worn-out.
This place could definitely use some new furniture as well as a wider array of services, so it could reach the standards of newly-opened hostels. The Piast is planning such a change for the beginning of 2008.
Rooms
The Piast is located in a historic tenement house and unfortunately, in many respects the hostel itself is "historic". The style of decor brings to mind the 1980's or an even earlier period.
There are single, double, triple and quadruple rooms available. Among the doubles, we can select rooms with bathrooms or sinks; other room types have sinks only. Showers and toilets are located in the hallways.
All rooms are furnished in an ascetic style - there is a table, chairs, wardrobe and shelves. Rooms show signs of use; unfortunately most of them aren't very cozy.
We can lower the price even more by selecting a room without a bathroom and with a sink only. Such a single room costs as little as a good dinner, e.g. 15 EUR. For half of that amount, we'll be able to book a place in a quadruple room.
Noise from the street is sometimes bothersome.
In recent years, there's been a large number of new hostels opening in Wroclaw. If the Piast is to survive the next several years in the marketplace, its radical rejuvenation is inevitable. It's worth it to take advantage of the great location to turn it into a true modern hostel - with a kitchen available to guests, computer etc.
Additional Services
There's a left baggage facility at the hostel.
Several dozen meters from the hotel there's a paid monitored car park.

- Location
Location is definitely the Piast's biggest asset. Getting off a train, we only have 100 meters to walk - the hotel is located directly opposite the railway station. The PKS Bus Station is a "stone's throw" away - about 300 meters.
It's a great starting point if what matters the most to us is staying near the Market Square and Wroclaw's other top attractions.
A several-minute stroll is enough to reach the Multikino Cinema and one of the most popular shopping centers. It's easy to get lost for half a day at the "Arkady Wroc³awskie". More than 100 shops and restaurants is a heaven for those who love to browse brand-name clothes and have a good meal on the town.
