A 4-star giant (nearly 300 rooms) belonging to Poland's largest hotel group Orbis, located in the very centre of the city, less than 10 minutes from the PKP/PKS Station.
There's a Conference Centre on premises, which is ready to organize any business event for hundreds of people, provide professional catering and a complete range of additional services (including Business Centre).
In addition to accommodations in a comfortable room or a luxury apartment, after returning to the hotel, we can spend pleasant time in the swimming pool, the solarium, the sauna or enjoy a massage on premises.
The only thing that one could wish for is probably some nice accent that would break the conventionality and lack of coziness, which are sometimes prevalent in such large hotels.
Rooms
The Orbis Wroclaw exhibits much of the conventionality evident in chain hotels. Our room, even though decently sized, clean and modernly furnished, is just one of the nearly 300 similar ones. So, if we prefer small boutique-style hotels, of which there are quite a few in Wroclaw, we should choose one of those
If, on the other hand, we're not afraid of large hotels and at the same time we appreciate the strong market position and many years of experience enjoyed by the Orbis group, their Wroclaw Hotel certainly deserves consideration.
In addition to standard rooms equipped with TV Sat, pay-TV channels, a radio, a telephone, air-conditioning and mini-bar, we can also book a superior room or one of the luxury apartments.
The decor of the typical doubles can be called modern and functional - the rooms don't stand out because of any special style or decorations. They are clean, but in my opinion a bit too dark.
Two special rooms for handicapped guests are available.
One third of the rooms are exclusively for non-smoking guests.
It's a pity that the Orbis Wroclaw doesn't equip its rooms with coffee/tea makers.
Unfortunately, internet access is possible only through a telephone line.
Restaurant
The air-conditioned restaurant is open until midnight and its menu features mainly Polish and European cuisine. The selection is quite good and the décor pleasant. If we want to have a drink and it's already past midnight, we can go to the Aperitif Bar, which is open late.
The breakfast buffet deserves a special praise. It's really worth to start a day here, because it will be a superb beginning. The first meal of the day, just like all others, can be delivered to the room thanks to Room Service.
The average price of a dinner is 60 PLN, which isn't a small amount of money in Poland. In this situation, a stroll towards the Old Town is an excellent chance to find an interesting place for a good dinner or supper. On the way, we'll find a good selection of smaller joints and larger restaurants, where within a budget of 90 PLN for two persons, we'll find superb Polish and exotic cuisine in beautifully arranged interiors.
Conference rooms
Because of its size and the services offered, the hotel is a superb place to organize large conferences. There are 10 conference rooms available, as well as a professionally-equipped Business Centre, complete catering for any type of event plus an array of additional services (for example translation).
It's possible to organize a meeting for as many as 500 persons, but also to rent conference rooms specially designed for meetings of small groups.
All conference rooms are equipped with high quality audio-video gear, sound system, roller blinds and air-conditioning.
Additional Services
For guests who take care of their physical shape and who like to relax during their travels, the package of wellness services will be welcome news. It consists of a swimming pool, a sauna, a solarium and the possibility of ordering a massage. The last three services are available at extra charge.
There is a multi-storey monitored car park near the hotel with over 240 parking spaces, including 3 for the handicapped. The parking fee is about 35 PLN.
The additional fee for a pet in the room is 30 PLN.
