The three-star Royal Hotel aspires to being a truly "royal" hotel - it surprises with elegance, original style and a beautifully designed interior. If there was air-conditioning, a lift and better parking facilities for guests who bring their own cars, we wouldn't hesitate to treat it like a good 4-star hotel.
Both, the location and the hotel itself, are superb. Quietly located in a beautifully restored tenement house built in 1900, it takes just 10 minutes on foot to reach the Old Town and the vicinity of the International Poznan Trade Fair site. Guests, who don't want just to live in a hotel, but also in an elegant and magical place, where Polish history and tradition are visible every step of the way, will feel good here.
31 rooms is just enough not to get lost in a crowd, but also to be able to select various interiors with different standards and prices, all beautifully restored and decorated. More demanding guests can select comfortable Studio Rooms or Apartments.
In 2006, the Royal was awarded the "Best in Poland" certificate for high quality hotel services.
Rooms
Each of 31 rooms is equipped with a bathroom, a telephone and TV Sat.
The interior decor superbly interplaying with the historic character of the tenement house in combination with pristine cleanliness astounds and makes us wonder how the owners managed to restore the interior so magnificently - blending history, style, elegance and modernity to create a magic place.
The rooms feature quite a few interesting decorative details, wood furniture, massive mirror frames.
We can be sure that despite the location in the center of the city, we'll be able to rest in undisrupted silence (windows face the porch).
When looking for more space and comfort, instead of a standard single or double, we can select a Studio Lux or an Apartment. In the Studio we can use a fully equipped kitchenette and instead of a shower have a bathtub with hydro-massage and a giant marital bed.
If we decide to stay in an Apartment, we'll additionally have a day room, a chance to admire panorama of Poznan from the window and a fully-stocked mini-bar.
What more could one ask for? A lift that would make it easier for some guests to reach rooms located on higher floors? Air-conditioning? More space in case of some rooms located in the attic?
Restaurant
If just once we've had a chance to eat breakfast at the Royal, we'll eagerly look forward to doing it again. Quite a good selection of fresh Polish products satisfies, makes the morning pleasant and is a treat for the senses.
It's also possible to have breakfast in the room.
The menu features quite a wide selection of European specialties at very decent prices.
Although it's not very likely, but should we grow bored with the restaurant's beautiful and stylish interior or the chef's ideas, we'll find several other cozy joints on the way to the Market Square.
We can have fun and drink till the morning at the hotel's cozy bar. During summer, it will be the most pleasant to sit in the beer garden.
Additional Services
Guests who bring their own cars to the hotel can use several parking spaces in front of the building free of charge. However, sometimes it's not easy to squeeze in there, so one must look for a parking space on nearby streets.
The hotel offers taxi discounts and discount coupons for restaurants.
