Our ranking:
a central location close to the Poznan Fairgrounds plus an intriguingly low price is a hard to beat combination. Restaurant on the premises and a car park make the offer complete and ensure that the Lech hotel may be a good and an inexpensive proposal for tourists, as well as for business travelers.

For guests arriving in Poznan on business or tourists seeking inexpensive accommodations in the very centre of the city, the Lech may turn out to be a bull's-eye.
The key asset of the hotel is its superb location between the Old Market Square, the PKP station and the site of the International Poznan Trade Fairs - those places can be reached on foot within 10-15 minutes. Excellent public transportation links with the rest of the city are also important.
It's probably impossible to find a 3-star hotel in such a good location, so most of us will probably overlook the tiresome noise coming from the street in some rooms and the interior décor, which sometimes seems a bit antiquated.
It's worth it to check the weekend rates - sometimes 60 EUR is enough to accommodate 2 persons at the Lech.
Rooms
Rooms at the Lech are mid-size, rather modestly furnished and without unnecessary decorations or adornments. All rooms are equipped with bathrooms, TV-sat, telephone, radio and a possibility to connect to the internet (unfortunately only via modem at the moment). Better facilities in that area are available near the front desk - there we can use wireless Internet free of charge.
Triple rooms are additionally equipped with refrigerators.
Although the hotel has a 100-year old tradition, a closer look at its décor brings to mind rather the 1980's. Everything seems OK at first; however, when looking more closely, we conclude that more attention could be paid to such details as curtains in the rooms or showers.
Several floors of the building house 78 rooms. Guests can choose from singles, doubles, triples and an apartment.
Superb location also has its demerits. In case of the Lech it is the tiresome noise and vibrations in some rooms - all because of the trams, which run near the hotel.
Some hotels have a very reasonable policy of dividing its rooms among smoking and non-smoking - unfortunately, the Lech doesn't do that.
The hotel has a lift and 1 room for handicapped guests.
Restaurant
We can stay at the hotel's restaurant and bar until 22.00. On summer days it's an even better feeling, since the restaurant is the only air-conditioned place in the hotel.
The "Lech" restaurant offers quite a decent selection of Polish meals and we should add expects quite decent money for it - 25-30 PLN should be enough.
Breakfast, which is included in the room rate, unfortunately isn't great; selection is limited, because one must order ready sets and there's no buffet with the possibility of arranging a meal according to personal preferences.
Alternatively, between 7.00 and 22.00, we can use the Room Service.
Additional Services
Guests, who come to the Lech by their own car, are able to leave it in a monitored car-park. Its drawbacks are unfortunately a rather high price (it's necessary to pay 50-70 PLN for 24 hours) and the fact that it isn't located directly by the hotel, but about 50 meters away.
The hotel doesn't accept pets.
