The castle dates back to the fifteenth century. In the seventeenth century the castle completely rebuilt in a Renaissance style.
The castle is surrounded by 2.6 hectares of the historic park reaching the raod and shores of the Castle Lake, which is almost perfectly round. From the road, the park is surrounded by a wall, which is one of the historic features of the palace and park.
Small church near the castle is the former castle chapel. It was built in 1580, but in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries was rebuilt several times.

Location

The Hotel Podewils is housed in a fifteenth-century Knight's Castle in Krąg (West Pomeranian) that is located half way between Szczecin and Gdansk, at distances of about 30 km from the Baltic Sea and about 40 km from Koszalin and Slupsk. The hotel is located about 2.5 hours drive from the Polish-German border (border crossing Kołbaskowo / Pomellen).
