The 19th century historical hunting castle, the former residence of Count Pszczynski is one of the most original places to stay in the Slask region. Surrounded by the greens of the Pszczynski forest , and bordering on its south westerly side with lake Paprocanskie. The castle is a well preserved neo gothic with clear German influences. The rooms have beautifully conserved interiors, full of historical furniture, hunting trophies, photos, and all of the modern amenities like TV, telephone, mini bar, internet.
For conferences there is the Princes Gabinet, for a wedding night the Princess Daisy Apartment is a must.
Due to its historical character , the hotel has no elevators or air conditioning.
The reception is fluent in English and German.
Noma Residence is a member of the Polish Prestige Hotel Alliance.
Rooms
The castle has still the same lay out as in 1868, with the original wooden floors, stairs, roof and most interior decorations still intact. Each of the eleven rooms situated on two floors are different. Stylish cupboards, beds , seats , desks take us back 200 years ago.
A large bathroom, TV, telephone, radio , mini bar , internet access are the modern features present in the 7 standard rooms, and 2 deluxe rooms , and two apartments.
Which room we choose , we always will be surprised by the interior and it history. These rooms were used from the beginning for the Princes family and their hunting guests. The rooms are overlooking the park and nearby lake.
For those guests looking for the ultimate lodging experience there is the Princess Daisy Apartment or the duo floored Princes Apartment where the bedroom is located in an eight sided bastion.
There are no handicapped rooms available, and no elevators in the castle.
Two additional rooms are located a few meters from the castle in the hunting House.
For your culinary needs you can drop down to the restaurant or order room service.
Good news for non smokers, all rooms are non smoking.
Restaurant
The long history of the castle and its hunting has a profound effect on the food being served. One can eat in 4 different rooms : 'Kominkowa' ,'Basztowa', 'Cenkier', 'Ksiazeca'. In the spring and summer it is best to eat outside on the terrace overlooking the lake. In the evening a place near the fireplace is a good way to end the day.
The food is of course hunting and old Polish dishes. The menu is full of local specialities like Slask noodles, tasteful faucets, boletus, roasted duck, pies, zander, deer, roe. Or try a 'medallion of deer in honey sauce' or 'Steak of boar in a sauce of honey and mustard', these dishes are available, perhaps not for a cheap price but 80-120 zl meals are not extraordinary. For hot and warm appetizers one should also find space, for sure for the 'Boletus with cream in filo cake' or 'Salad of baked tomatoes'.
The wine choice is made easy with the help of the hotels' licensed sommelier.
The 100 square meter fireplace room is ideally suited for a large banquet.
