What to see and do in Katowice

• Spodek - the biggest hall in Poland.
  The architectural pride of Katowice - not to be confused with any other. When heading for this huge hall be sure to check the playlist - you might be able to catch the last tickets for a concert of The Cure, Mike Oldfield or any other world famous music groups that play here.
• Silesian Insurgents Monument - the biggest and heaviest monument in Poland.
  It has three falcon wings symbolizing the three political rises in the Silesia area. It is near the Katowice roundabout.
• Miniature Books Museum
  87 miniature books of the major Polish literature, the smallest being the 'Latin alphabet' measuring 0,8 by 1,0 millimeter
• Parachute tower - the only remaining in Poland.
  35 metre high steel parachute tower is located in the Tadeusz Kosciuszki Park. A legendary point in the defence of Katowice.

• Sosnowiec - Palace Schon
  Visit the neo baroque residence of the famous industrial family Schon. An unique glass collection is on display here.
• Bytom - Upper Silesian Narrow Railroad Line
  Take a ride on a train, while it still exists. This rail line is the oldest still functioning track, it's been in service already 150 years. The track is 23 kilometers long.
• Bytom - Sports Valley
  Even during the summer put on your skies. In the Silesian 'Dolomites' you can use 3 ski slopes of 700 metres in length , there is a special section for quads, and may other attractions.
• Tychy - Beer Museum
  See if you like the taste of Tyskie beer right at its source at the 'Tychy Dukes' Brewery'. And find out some of the secrets of 400 year of beer brewing in the famous Beer Museum.
• Tarnowskie Góry - Historical mine of silver ores
  This mine is the major attraction of the Silesia region. Don't lose your orientation in the labyrinth of mine corridors and dugouts. A part of the tour is by boat - 270 metres you float safely down a mine corridor. A must.
• Jaworzno - Diving Center "Orka"
  If your passion is scuba diving, don't miss this opportunity to dive in a water filled dolomite mine, with crystal clear water this place is very popular with all diving lovers.
• Zabrze- Coal Mine Queen Luiza
  Don't leave this region without visiting this coal mine. You will see how coal was mined and experience the modern technique of wall circling. Look at the coal wagons sliding by down the mine corridors.
• Chudow - Ruins of the Renaissance Castle
  Come to see the annual medieval festival organized in August. Taste food prepared by century old recipes, watch knights fighting it out , and do not miss out on the concerts where the really old music is played.
• Cieszyn - Castle Hill
  Get up the hill and have a beautiful panorama of the whole of Silesia and Beskid region.
• Radzionkow - Museum of Bread
  Bake your own bread and see how the professionals baked it over the centuries.
• Pszczyna - Palace and Castle Museum
  See for yourself what lies behind the saying 'Pearl of the Upper Silesia'. Equally impressive as the Palace, is the surrounding 84 hectare English garden.
• Bledow - Bledowska desert
  In search of Poland's most interesting places don't overlook 'the Polish Sahara'. This desert lying between Bledow, Klucze and Chechl is the largest in Europe measuring 20 square kilometers.
• Piekary Slaskie - Sanctuary
  Plan your route in such a way as not to miss one of Poland's most important place of pilgrimage, and also the Silesian center of the cult of Holy Mary - it also contains a beautiful painting of the Holy Mother.
• Rudy - National Park
