The Novotel Centrum Gdansk is certainly cozier than the usual Novotel skyscraper hotels, which you can find in other cities, although with its 160 rooms it is still a big hotel and thus a good offer for many training groups. Furthermore, it has three floors and earned a three star rating.
You can expect a certain versatility to which the hotel is obliged by its brand. This shows in the services it has to offer (e.g. a special offer for children), and also in the decor of the interiors, which were arranged according to the Novation system.
The hotel is a friendly place for families - you can find here a special offer for the youngest guests (e.g. the child menu "Dolfi", a play corner with Playstation). There is the possibility of free lodging for two children up to sixteen years of age in the room of their parents.
You can sometimes miss the opportunity of spending your time actively in the hotel, because there is no fitness center or swimming pool. But don't worry about this too long…The hotel's biggest trump card is its location - the surrounding historical monuments and a charming view on the River Moltawa are not only an enormous pleasure to the eye, but also offer the possibility of a relaxing walk along the river embankment. You can have all this being in the center of the city, a few steps away from the Old Town.
The staff at the reception, who are at the guest's disposal round the clock, speak English and German. They are very helpful, nice and always smiling, regardless of the situation.
Rooms
Even the biggest group coming to Gdansk has the opportunity to lodge here under one roof. There are 158 double rooms, modernized and arranged according to the Novation formula, which applies to all Novotel hotels. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and always clean. They have air-conditioning, in contrast to the rest of the hotel, a radio, satellite television with Pay-TV channels. Light hues, which dominate the color of the walls and most of the equipment add to the coziness of the interiors. According to the Novation formula we can find in each room also a safe and a mini bar. A curiosity is a specially designed movable working desk, which you can easily shift. Due to new architectonical solutions, the doors of the bathroom open to the rooms, which allows for example watching television, while taking a bath.
A further nice touch are coffee and tea making facilities awaiting you in the room. It is an alternative option to the room service, which is not available round the clock.
From May 2007 guests will have the possibility to use wireless internet access in their rooms.
There are three rooms prepared for disabled people. The Novotel has also an elevator.
More than a half of the rooms (two separate floors) are for non-smokers.
Restaurant
"Garden Brasserie" is the customary name of restaurants in the Novotel hotels. The term "Garden" is very accurate in this case, a view on the green, blooming garden behind the window adds charm to your meal. We recommend to move outside in the summertime and delight in different meals, desserts and fresh brewed, excellent coffee among flowers, coniferous trees and bushes.
In the menu you will find many typically Polish, as well as French and international dishes. As befits a seaside hotel there are many dishes with fish.
Children are especially welcome in the Novotel. For them the Novotel prepared the "Dolfi" menu, which they can gobble, sitting safely in chairs adapted to their needs.
The average price of dinner is 50 to 100 PLN.
In the bar, with the charming name "Melody" you can order a drink, a small snack or several warm meals from the menu. It closes at 11.00 p.m.
Conference rooms
In the conference rooms of the Novotel small as well as bigger groups can easily meet. There are five rooms of different sizes. The smallest one has enough room for twenty people, the largest for three hundred.
One of the rooms can be turned into a banqueting hall for one hundred and fifty people if the need occurs.
Additional equipment in the form of a notebook or a video projector is available upon request. However, you have to pay for this service. From May 2007 business guests have the possibility to make use of the services of the new created Business Corner free of charge.
The hotel's restaurant has prepared a special catering offer.
Additional Services
The Novotel Centrum does not have its own parking lots, but this does not mean that guests have no possibility of leaving their cars at a save place when they arrive. Next to the hotel there is a private parking lot. The fee for twenty four hours of parking is 25 PLN, which is not very expensive.
The hotel can arrange pick-up by taxi cab at the airport upon arrival. This costs around 60 to 70 PLN.
The hotel accepts pets. The additional fee for their accommodation is 50 PLN a day.
