Mercure Hevelius Hotel Gdansk hotel

At the Hevelius Hotel, because of its size, a guest feels like one of many. This definitely isn't a place for people seeking privacy and loose conversations with the hotel's owner, who is continuing the family tradition.
If we travel with a large group, the hotel will certainly accommodate all of us -besides ours, the hotel has 280 other rooms.
Additionally, if we're a business group seeking a place to organize a meeting, the Hevelius with its 9 conference rooms and 3 banquet rooms is a perfect solution.
A magnificent panorama of the city, visible from the higher storeys announces the attractions of Gdansk's center, among others the monuments of the Old Town, situated only 500 meters away. Traveling to Gdansk by train, it takes 5 minutes to walk from the station to the Hevelius.
The hotel has a friendly lobby and an elegant restaurant, which makes a great impression since early hours of the morning, offering a superb breakfast buffet.

The staff speaks English, and because the hotel is visited by many German-speaking guests, it is also possible to communicate in that language.

Rooms

281 and 17 are certainly not small numbers. With such number of rooms and storeys, it's difficult to find privacy and often personal attention of the hotel staff. What's easy? Organizing the arrival of even the largest group. A beautiful panorama of Gdansk, visible from windows on higher floors. A choice of the room type (standard, superior, and apartment) best suited to our needs.
The rooms are furnished in contemporary style and standard-equipped with TV sat, pay-TV channels, a radio, a telephone and a mini-bar. Some of the rooms should really be a little larger.
In Superior rooms, we'll additionally find a few pleasant elements in the form of a coffee/tea maker, internet access and an ironing board.
Room Service is available. The "business" storey is equipped with wireless internet access.
It's a pity that only three storeys are air-conditioned.
The hotel prepared 2 rooms with the needs of handicapped persons in mind. The storeys can be reached by one of the hotel's four lifts.
Rooms on 5 storeys are for non-smoking guests.

Restaurant

A visit to the elegant "U Heveliusa" restaurant is a good chance to try Polish cuisine. The restaurant offers a really good selection. What's more, the menu also features the more interesting international meals.
Special mention should be made of the breakfast, which is served in the form of an abundant buffet.
On warm days, there's a possibility to move from the restaurant's air-conditioned interior to the terrace.
The hotel also features the "Wega" bar, which is quite large and offers a decent selection of coffees, teas and alcoholic beverages. It is open until 11 PM.

Conference rooms

Thanks to its size, the Hevelius can accommodate both many individual guests, as well as groups, including groups attending courses and conferences. The offer to business guests includes 9 conference rooms of various sizes - from 20 to 165 square meters, depending on the type of meeting. They're professionally equipped (sound, multimedia projectors, VCR, CD and DVD players).
3 banquet rooms are also available at the hotel.
What's probably lacking is a separate Business Centre, where it would be possible to independently access the Internet, use a printer and a fax.

Additional Services

The hotel has its own car park, which is inexpensive - 24 hours of parking cost 25 PLN.

The fee for staying at the hotel with a pet is equally inexpensive - that service costs 20 PLN per day.

At the Hevelius for an additional fee, we can use a solarium or order a massage.

Mercure Hevelius Hotel Gdansk

- Location

The Mercure, with its white and blue glass facade and 17 storeys proudly towering over other buildings, deserves to be called a mid-rise skyscraper and gives its guests a magnificent panorama of the city, which is most valuable in this situation.

One of its assets is undoubtedly an excellent, central location - it is situated midway between the PKP/PKS station and the Old Town, thanks to which, both places are within a 5-minute walk.

The nearby, famous Gdansk Shipyard - the birthplace of "Solidarity" - is another place worth visiting for guests staying at the Hevelius.

The airport is 15 kilometers away. It's most convenient to take a taxi, because a trip on public transportation takes at least 45 minutes.

It is not a problem to find shops and services near the hotel. Within 200 meters we'll find many kinds of them. In case of more extensive shopping, we can go to the nearby Madison Shopping Center.
