Kamienica Goldwasser Gdansk hotel

If we're looking for a small and at the same time luxurious apartment, truly private atmosphere of individually decorated interiors and excellent Polish cuisine, the Goldwater Tenement House should be near the top of our list.

The Goldwasser's location is superb; tourists can have their cake and eat it too - live right next to the Old Town and see the sailboats on the Motlawa River from the room window or the restaurant's terrace. Gdansk's biggest attractions can be reached on foot in several minutes.

The Goldwasser is not only 7 cozy, stylishly decorated apartments, but also an excellent, acclaimed restaurant and the legendary liqueur, which we can try there.

At the front desk, we can freely converse in English and German.

Rooms

Guests can select from 7 individual apartments with the area ranging from 20 to 40 square meters. All have a separate bedroom, a salon, a bathroom with shower, a telephone, TV SAT and a balcony. They have nothing of the conventional character of apartments in large hotel chains. They are unique and full of charm. Wood floors, massive dressers, paintings and stylish decorations take us back at least a century. In each of the apartments we can feel at home; the only difference is whether it's a comfortable or a luxurious home. Here, we can decide that ourselves and select the type of apartment which suits us the best.

An apartment with a bedroom and a Scandinavian-style day room or a "Maisonette" apartment with a bedroom, a day room and a fireplace - 3* higher-standard accommodations usually don't wait long to be booked.
View from the windows, a harbinger of what's historic and worth seeing in Gdansk, is another pleasant accent.

Due to architectonic considerations, the tenement house can't accommodate handicapped guests. Quite a few stairs and no lift or specially equipped rooms can be too burdensome to them.

Restaurant

Twice awarded by Pascal - the publisher of tourist guides - the Goldwasser Restaurant is a popular place among Gdansk residents. Whether it's the superb cuisine featuring Polish and international delicacies or the magic atmosphere of the summer garden and the riverside viewing terrace (and most likely both), it has been attracting gourmets from various parts for years. Teakwood furniture, ivy discreetly climbing the walls, romantic atmosphere and delicious seafood dishes enriched by the picturesque panorama of the Old Town, a view of the promenade and sailboats passing by on the river - that's the calling card of the Goldwasser Restaurant.
It is said that a visit to Gdansk isn't complete without trying the legendary Goldwasser liqueur. What would be a better place to do that if not "the source" - the local liqueur quality-control room? The beverage's secret is a recipe based on 20 herbs and spices as well as gold flakes floating inside the bottle that give it a magnificent appearance. That's certainly a secret worth discovering.

On special request, it's possible to organize a banquet for about 30 people.

Additional Services

The hotel provides its guests with special cards allowing them to park a car in the Old Town. There are parking spaces near the hotel, however, they aren't monitored. So, if we want a safer place for our car, 50 meters away is the Hanza Hotel, where we can leave our car in a monitored car park for about 30 PLN for 24 hours.

The hotel's front desk isn't open 24 hours.

Kamienica Goldwasser Gdansk

- Location

The hotel's location is a dream come true. The Goldwasser Tenement House is situated on the bank of the Motlawa River, in the very heart of Gdansk's Old Town, near the 14th-century Crane. It would be difficult to find a place where we could better feel the ambience of old Gdansk and at the same time be able to reach all of its major attractions on foot.

The main railway station and PKS bus station are 1 kilometer away. The nearest airport is 10 kilometers from the hotel.
