The biggest highlight of the hotel is its location. A charming view of the Old Town, the Motława, the Żuraw Gdanski (the old harbor wharf crane) on one side and on other on the famous Kościół Mariacki (St. Mary's Church) surrounded by numerous historic houses, is guaranteed here. The original façade of the hotel, which refers stylistically to the historic buildings of the Old Town, in combination with the elegantly and modern furnished interiors makes you feel that you found a true gem of the Polish seaside. A stay in the stylish and cozy hotel, offering its guests a massage service, relaxation in the Finnish sauna, as well as in the Jacuzzi and a walk along the river embankment or a drink in the its bar causes that you really rest here.
According to the "Forbes" magazine the hotel took eight place in the category of the most prestigious hotels and business objects. It has a big conference room and a banqueting hall.
One quibble about the hotel is that the price of the lodging (including the restaurant) could be a bit lower.
The staff at the reception, which is twenty four hours at the disposal of the guests, speaks Polish, English, German and Russian.
Rooms
Among the sixty rooms of the Hanza you will find standard single rooms, standard double rooms, Junior apartments with two rooms and two comfortable generously sized Presidential suites (80 m2).
From one half of the rooms you have a view on the River Moltawa, from the windows of the others you can see the Old Town. It is a great pleasure to lodge in center of the town and to admire such views instead of looking on typical office buildings or jammed, noisy streets.
In all rooms there is a telephone and satellite television. If you buy a special card at the reception, you can use wireless internet access without leaving the room.
The Hanza also does not fall short when other aspects of the comfort of the guests are concerned - all rooms in the hotel have air-conditioning, a well equipped mini bar and a room service is available too, which allows to relax even better. You could only wish for self-regulating air-conditioning.
Some guests like coffee and tea making facilities in their rooms - unfortunately there is no such convenience at the Hanza.
You can choose among the bathrooms; depending on your preferences you can have a room with a bathtub or a room with a shower.
Apart from the basic equipment the staff can provide to your room a notebook with wireless WIFI internet access.
In the Junior suites, apart from the additional space (approximately 40m2 in total), a bathroom with a corner bathtub, a heated floor, a bathrobe and cosmetics will be a pleasant surprise.
If you still miss more space, you can move to the bigger and more luxurious Presidential suite (80m2) after paying an appropriate price. In this suite Gerhard Schroeder and Margaret Thatcher were lodging, among other famous people. The Hanza is a place frequented by Polish and foreign politicians, actors and artists from the cover pages of the newspapers.
Only one room has been adapted to the needs of disabled people. There is an elevator to the upper floors. One half of the rooms is for non-smokers. They have two floors at their disposal, which are free of cigarette smoke.
Restaurant
The charming view of the River Mołtawa will accompany you also during the meals in the restaurant and the bar.
The specialty of the Hanza is fish, the chef recommends especially "the lemon sole filet with zucchini fritters". The restaurant serves specialties of the Polish and international cuisine.
While admiring the view of the river, you can find in the menu numerous dishes, which are not connected with water e.g. delicious beef tenderloin. The average of dinner is 100 PLN.
The exceptionally tasty and diverse breakfast buffet is a pleasant surprise.
In the summertime we recommend to change the air-conditioned interiors for the terrace.
In the evening it is worth to move from the restaurant to the bar, where a fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere. Until midnight you can sip here a drink or taste a delicious cheesecake with an aromatic coffee.
Conference rooms
It is possible to organize a conference or a reception for a larger number of people (the Hanza has a separate banqueting hall with a dance floor, own bar, and a small stage). For business meetings there is a conference room available (almost 100 m2 surface area) equipped with a screen, an overhead projector, a flipchart and access to the internet. Additional equipment is available on request. The Hanza does not have a typical Business Center, but a special Business Apartment. The hotel restaurant provides catering.
Additional Services
There is no problem with the internet at the hotel, a wireless access is available after buying a special card (you can buy cards of two operators for the price of 9 PLN).
A big plus of the Hanza is its own parking lot, despite the excellent, central location. And even better- it is free of charge!
After a day full new impressions of you can relax in the Jacuzzi, in the Finnish sauna, in the small fitness center or book a massage (this service is available for an additional fee).
You can also treat yourself to a new hairstyle - the hair salon, run by the Polish champion in men's hairdressing has earned an excellent reputation among the residents and visitors of Gdansk.
Transportation from the airport is available for an additional fee.
The hotel accepts pets. The price for their accommodation is 40 PLN a day.
