The town of Auschwitz, although it attracts thousands of tourists every year, has no an extensive accommodation range. Hotels can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Fortunately, you can find a real pearl among them - the Hotel Galicia.
There's a very friendly atmosphere. Paintings on the walls and other ornaments, refer to the history of the building, that once was a post station. The hotel is equally elegant on the inside, and outside, beautifully renovated and surrounded by greenery.
Building has only two floors, yet is also has a lift, so we need not worry that we'll have to carry the suitcases up.
The cozy hotel offers perfect accommodation for families, tourists and businessmen.
Good location (4km from the Museum) and high standard was appreciated by a few celebrities who stopped in the hotel, among others the French President Jacques Chirac.
Anywhere in the area we will find a better living for such small price, taking into account what we receive in return.

Rooms

The hotel is small and cozy offering only 32 rooms, including 5 apartments. Some of them has a balcony. Single rooms are located in the loft while the apartments in the hostorical part of the building. Apartments are set in the 19th century part of the building and additionally have DVD, refrigerator, and comfortable twin or double bed. Single rooms are equipped with a single bed, bathroom (with shower), TV Sat, telephone, and Internet. Rooms are sparking cliean, without a traces of being worn out, besides they are spacious, nice and have modern furniture. The rooms perfectly match the concept of the hotel that has an idea of being friendly, hospitable and warm place. The concept has been acchieved in 100%.
Galicja is a paradise of hospitality and caring for comfort of each guest. The hotels surrounding is also attractive with nice garden and quiet neighbourhood.
The only setback is lack of air conditioning.

Restaurant

Delicious food and reasonable prices. In the morning we start a day wih rich, beautifully presented buffet breakfast. It is an excellent opportunity to taste local delicacies on the menu because the restaurant "Stara Poczta" offers a lot of Polish and Silesian dishes. The only thing we need to enjoy this extremely rich menu prepared by talented chef, is a longer stay in Galicia. Unique warm decor and the warmth of the fireplace, will make us sit here until dawn.
Second option is to experiment with Italian cuisine. In the second restaurant - Tratoria "Viva" we will find many delights of the sunny south of Europe without spending excessive money. In summer, guests can dine in the garden. In such beautiful surrounding you will not resist the tasty desserts and coffee.
The hotel deserve additional praise also for the special children's menu.
Winery U Schweika will provide more pleasant experiences, wine, beer, liqueur and wine cellar with original décor.

The hotel has its own monitored parking as well as garage where you can safely store a bike or motorcycle. We do not pay extra for it.
